Respite Care
Respite is available here at Bornhava to provide extended opportunities for quality care and socialization. Giving families the extra time they may need to run errands, concentrate on other children, or to just take a few special moments to relax is what Respite is all about.
Our staff are well trained, adults from the community, often students from nearby universities, specializing in working with children. They provide high quality care, a stimulating environment, and the consistency of familiar routines. We strive to follow the Bornhava philosophy of child development through social interactions and a variety of activities.
The program is open to children, ages 2 years old – until their 7th birthday, with developmental disabilities who are enrolled in the MEDICAID WAIVER PROGRAM.
The Respite program runs from 2:30 – 5:30 PM, whenever Bornhava is in session. Special "date nights", typically the first Friday of the month, allow care-givers an evening of their own. We are here from 6:00 – 10:00 PM, and siblings are welcome. Activities include fun, games, snacks, pajamas and a movie. Interested in hearing more about Respite? Click to email-Lauren Hayes
